These Marines Stand At Attention. And I Was So Focused On Them I Almost Didn’t Notice THIS!

The United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon is a group that’s composed of 24 men in total. Their jobs are to display silent exhibition drills. These drill routines aim to epitomize all of the fundamental Marine values. These key values include high levels of professionalism and self-discipline. The platoon is also commonly known by the name of “The Marching Twenty-Four.”

This rifle platoon has been in existence since 1948, when they first held a performance. Bizarrely enough, their first performance was supposed to be their sole performance ever. The audience was so impressed by the show, however, that the platoon kept putting on more and more performances. Their performances started becoming tradition.

The Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon’s routines are astounding under normal circumstances. They recently, however, did their routines alongside the Blue Angels, the Navy’s flight display squad. The Blue Angels have a lot in common with the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. They too have a lot of history behind them, having been established in 1946 merely two years before the Silent Drill Platoon. The Blue Angels have the distinction of being one of the globe’s oldest flying acrobatic teams. Only France’s Patrouille de France is older, having been created in 1931.

Witnesses of this performance got the chance to see a majestic show that combined immense organization, skills and accuracy. As the jets soared high above the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, they showed off their own undeniable talents. This effort undoubtedly required hour after hour of focused rehearsal time.
