The Last Surviving Rescue Dog Of 9/11 Visits Memorial And It Was All Caught On Camera. WOW

During one of our nation’s most devastating attacks on the homeland, there were several service men and women that responded to aid victims of the horrific scene that followed the attack on the World Trade Center on September, 11 2001.

In order to assists search efforts, trained dogs were brought in to find any remaining survivors. One of those service dogs is a 15-year-old Golden Retriever named Bretagne. On the thirteenth anniversary of the attacks, Denise Corliss, went back to the site that was once filled with chaos and devastation with Bretagne.

Corliss recounts the feeling she had the day they visited the memorial site; “Seeing this kind of took my breath away a bit, similar to how the pile was the first time I saw it,” Even with how well trained Bertagne is, she was focused on more of the wounded and distressed emergency workers.

She had noticed one firefighter in particular that looked to need comfort and according to Corliss, “She went right to that firefighter and laid down next to him and put her head on his lap.” This tragedy that occurred just thirteen short years ago shows the bravery and proud service of men, women and even animals in times of crisis.
