That’s Embarrassing. The Reason Why The NRA Just Banned Guns At Its Convention Is Laughable

Most people would think that the NRA would want guns everywhere and anytime, particularly at an NRA convention. However, this is not the case. They have plans to hold their annual convention in Nashville this week, and they have the policy of “no guns.” This really does make sense, considering that there will be 70,000 people there, and it would probably not be the best idea for them to show up armed.

They put together a multilevel security plan once they had chosen their location. Any gun on the convention floor have to be nonoperational without the firing pins. Additionally, guns that are bought at the convention will need to be procured at a Federal Firearms License dealer and will necessitate identification. They have also been said to have paid $200,000 for security on the premises.

The NRA has recently pushed forward bills that allowed for guns in all sorts of public places, which is why it is curious that they do not want these guns near the NRA.

They are not complete hypocrites, however. They just want their convention to be reasonably safe for everyone. The convention will be taking place at a few different locations. The ones that are going to be taking place at night, at the Bridgestone Arena, are going to be big music and public speech events, and guns will be prohibited there. However, they will be allowed by all the licensed gun owners at the daytime events at the Music City Center.
