GOP Pushing $23 Billion In Food Stamp Cuts – They Say “Eating Is A Privilege”

Before election rolls around, the GOP wants to make sure a few housekeeping duties are taken care of, one being the food stamp issue. The GOP wants to push $23 billion in cuts to the program across the country. The reason for this is because they believe that eating is a privilege, at least for some people.

The Republicans in the House are trying to get the Tea Party on board with the cuts. There are another $170 billion in cuts to various programs that could be just as devastating to those who rely on public assistance. There hasn’t been a complete plan released for the second set of cuts yet, but rest assured that it won’t be to the military and the weapons that they have.

One way to save that much money is to cut the tax breaks being offered to the big businesses. The GOP isn’t cutting food stamps to balance any kind of budget as President Obama has already given his ideas for how this can be done.

They want Americans to fend for themselves in a country that doesn’t have enough jobs for everyone. This is the real world. In the real world, there are families who need food stamps so that their children have food to eat.
