The subject of abortion has been controversial for years. Many people are very vocal about their support for or against abortion being legal. An author and journalist named Kevin D. Williamson has landed in some hot water for an article that he wrote for the National Review. Williamson is pro-life and in his statements he said that people who identify themselves as liberals or who are young do not have the intelligence to vote and should be restricted from doing so.
Williamson cited the fact that Lena Dunham who is a famous liberal who is pro-choice has used her star power and celebrity to try to get young people to vote. He went on to say that Dunham actually likes that people are having abortions.
Williamson is a conservative and does not believe that anyone should be allowed to have an abortion. He has also stated that while rape and incest is horrible, that women should also be denied the right to abortions in these circumstances.
If abortions were deemed illegal by the government then Williamson has suggested that women who do get abortions should be executed by being hanged. This basically negates a pro-life stance when a person is being killed as well.
He stated that he believed that the taking of an unborn life justifies the punishment because he had seen someone hung for the crime of a homicide. Many conservatives like Williamson believe that abortion is murdering children. His remarks have yet again churned up the abortion debate in the country.
