The Pit Bull is often seen as a dangerous breed of dog who should not be trusted with children and vulnerable people. However, nine year old Karma has become something of an Internet sensation as a video shows the caring and beautiful relationship she shares with six year old Lacy.
Amanda, Lacy’s mother put together the video, which has now gone viral to highlight the strong relationship her daughter shares with Karma, despite the difficulties Lacy has in her life.
Lacy is severely autistic and cannot speak, without verbal communication and with the social issues presented by autism Lacy has built a non verbal friendship with Karma that her mother thought should be highlighted. The video created by Amanda shows the close bond that has existed between Lacy and Karma since Lacy was born, pictures and videos show the pair playing and resting together without a hint of a problem between them.
Amanda states the pair have always shared a strong bond, largely because the friendship they share is not based on verbal communication. Instead, Amanda believes Karma has a sense that Lacy has issues that she can help overcome and has shown how perceptive the Pit Bull can be in working with people affected by a disability of some kind.
