Political Satirist Stephen Colbert has a small but loyal following for his show “The Colbert Report” on the Comedy Central Network. Admittedly, the show’s regularly viewership of 1.1 million pales compared to the Fox News Channel, but performs well for a comedy program. Perhaps for this reason, he was chosen as the successor to David Letterman for the “Late Show” starting next year.
Colbert’s modus operandi is to ridicule conservatives. It should be noted that he will have to eschew such banter on the “Late Show”. He recently took to mocking Fox News host Sean Hannity over a segment of his show called “Question of the Day”. It is a point in his show where he fields questions from fans. The question was in regards to his exercise regimen.
Hannity used to moment to invoke President Obama’s quasi-effeminate exercise routine of working on an elliptical machine and building muscle resistance with tiny 2-lb weights. Anyone who’s seen a photograph of Obama riding a bicycle would know that looking manly is not his strong suit.
Colbert responded by stating that Hannity is in much better physical shape than he is. In addition, Hannity has a great degree of flexibility which proves useful in sticking his head up the posterior end of his own body. Colbert, whose show largely mocks conservatives, was visibly peeved that Hannity used the “Question of the Day” to demean the president.

Apparently, Hannity disliked the criticism and fielded a “Question of the Day” in regards to how Colbert will fare in the next year’s late night ratings battle against Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel. Hannity predicted Colbert will come in dead last.
