When Elderly Couldn’t Get Their Dog Down The Elevator, Animal Control Comes And Does THIS…

For many people, power outages are a minor annoyance. For the elderly, it can become quite complicated. Imagine the recent frustration, despair, and possible fear of a Carson City, Nevada couple.

Yet, they weren’t worried about their own comfort. They were worried about their devoted companion. The Carson City couple and Nicky their 13-year old chow were stranded. Arthritis left Nicky unable to take the stairs, and with the power out, they couldn’t take the elevator. This meant they could not walk Nicky and allow him to relieve himself outside.

Not sure what else to do for their dog, the couple called the Animal Services division of Carson City. After hearing of their situation, two officers from the division visited the couple and carried Nicky down the stairs and then walked him so he could take care of his needs. As the power was still out the next day, Officers Williams and Albertson returned several times to provide the couple the assistance they needed in caring for their dog.

Recognizing these heroes, the Humane Society shared the story and a photo with the Facebook Community. The society, Nicky, and his owners are thankful that there are people who will still go out of their way to help others.
