A male nurse by the name of Tom would bring tears to a glass eye with the kind act he performed for his patient, a little girl named Kamryn. She is a huge fan of the Disney blockbuster “Frozen” which love she and Tom shared. While she was braving the difficulties of a blood transfusion, Tom went to extraordinary lengths to cheer her up with the following angelic act.
Tom gets Kamryn to sing along with him for the song “Love is an Open Door” from the animated film they both love. Kamryn gets enthusiastically involved in the singing with her enthusiasm evident. She has lost all of her hair due to the chemo therapy she’s been taking, but you could hardly tell. Both of them are jovial with one another and they get into the main chorus of the song. Tom tends to lip sync the part of the song performed by Santino Fontana, but Kamryn sings over the part sung by Kristen Bell.
Fun and laugher are an essential part of recovery. It has been shown that the stress released from laughter and the resulting endorphins give a person a much needed sensation of relief. It is entirely possible that little Kamryn can sing her way to good health.
Either way, her very considerate nurse owes a fair bit of credit for this display of kindness that only a nurse can produce. It’s just not the type of bedside manner physicians are taught in med school. Watch the video, but keep a handkerchief handy.
