Every presidential election there are a few contenders that continue to shock and amaze us, not because of their ethical views. Actually, quite the opposite. The GOP has been in a state of panic as their outlandish and outspoken candidates continue to run them into the ground. You may vividly remember Donald Trump’s insulting comment about Mexico, but get ready because Ted Cruz is making an even worse example.
Ted Cruz made history when he was elected in 2012 as the first Cuban American to serve as a US Senator from Texas. A few short months ago, he decided to run for president. He quickly got his spot in the limelight for being a critic of his own party, claiming that they’ve abandoned their Christian values on which our country was founded. He also denies believing that we contribute to climate change, strongly opposes same-sex marriage, and is a major opponent of abortion rights.
In a sad yet foreseeable dilemma, Cruz has been accused of buying his own books to gain the title of Bestseller from the New York Times. In a statement from a New York Times spokeswoman, the standards they apply to the best seller list are simply beyond the number of books sold. According to them, the evidence pointed to strategic bulk purchases. This means that Cruz basically bought the books himself.
Is there no end to how low this candidate will go to bolster his bizarre bid for president? Looks like this strange contender will be attracting the media circus for quite some time.
