When someone sees a man outside a store, there usually aren’t any odd thoughts as to what the person is doing. One man saw someone else performing an act near a trash can that made him stop in his tracks.
John saw a man who appeared to be homeless digging through a trash can. Paying attention to the homeless man’s actions was the answer to his prayers. John was leaving an electronics store when he saw the homeless person looking for food in a dumpster.
He didn’t stop people to ask them for money or any other kind of help. When he found what food he could in the dumpster, he put everything back in the trash bin and cleaned up the area. He also wrapped up the food so that it didn’t look like it had been taken from a dumpster. John’s heart was breaking for the man, but he wasn’t someone who typically gave homeless people money.
John asked the man what his name was and was told that it was Steve. He asked Steve if he wanted something to eat. John wanted the man to follow him to a restaurant where the only request was a large sweet tea. John bought him a large meal, but turned around after leaving the store because there was more he wanted to do for Steve. John bought a gift card so that Steve could have meals to eat.
Steve had prayed earlier in the day for a hot meal, and his prayers were answered.
