Memories Pizza has temporarily closed its doors since it had the recent backlash from the media. The owners have embraced Indiana’s new Religious Freedom restoration Act, and this law allows for anybody to discriminate against any person as long as it is related to their religious beliefs. However, the majority of people being victims are those who are homosexuals.

Governer Mike Pence has exclaimed that this law wouldn’t discriminate against LGBT people. However, this company clearly refused to serve gay people despite the Pence making it clear it shouldn’t hurt people in the LGBT community.

The owners have exclaimed that they clearly wouldn’t provide pizzas or any service to people who were gay because of their beliefs.

They made it clear that homosexuals have chosen to be gay, and os they don’t want to serve people who don’t live the lifestyle they approve of. While being is not a choice, being against bigotry definitely is, and this is why many people have chosen to try and speak out about how this place has discriminated against gay people. Their Yelp review page and Facebook received scathing remarks and comments.

One person decided to purchase a domain name related to the business’ name, and they posted decorated it pictures of guys making out and rainbows.

The owner has said that he is “confused” about why people are saying bad things about them, but they need to understand that there are people who live different lifestyles from them. They don’t plan on reopening any time soon.
