There are many animals that are mistreated and even slaughtered each year. Horses are no exception – these animals are robbed of their lives when they could be living happy ones. However, this particular story involves the preserving of a precious life.
There was a mother horse and her baby in Riverview, Florida who were never allowed out of their stalls, and the RVR horse rescue got a call from a neighbor who was worried about these animals. One day, they ended up escaping the stall. The neighbor took a photo of the baby who was stumbling down the street. He was in terrible condition; it was obvious that he had been neglected. He was malnourished and starving, and it was obvious that he was very close to dying.
When the team got to this mother and baby, they knew they needed to act quickly to save these two precious lives. They found the two sick horses, still on the loose. They named the baby horse Timmy. Though the two horses were close to death, they helped them and slowly nursed them back to health.
Today, Timmy runs and plays like any other horse. Looking at him, you would never be able to tell that he is the same horse that was pictured staggering down the street in a horrible state. It is sad that he got to that state in the first place, but thankfully he was rescued and is now living the life that he deserves to live.
