Village Of 50 Small Houses Being Built For Homeless Veterans Have A Place To Live

There are thousands of homeless veterans in the United States. However, a group in Missouri is doing their part to make sure that people who have served our country have a place to stay. They are creating a neighborhood of tiny houses that will be just for veterans. The name of the group is the Veterans Community Project.

The Veterans Community Project was started by three veterans. In addition to housing, the Veterans Community Project will also provide people with counseling. Additionally, the houses will already have food, electricity and gas. They want to make sure that veterans do not have to go through the hassle of making deposits and waiting to get utilities turned on. The veterans will continue to get support until they can move into permanent housing.

The houses will be 240 square feet and 20 feet long. The Veterans Community Project started in 2015. Their goal is to have the homes built by the winter of 2017. Chris Lawrence is one of the people who are helping build the homes. The team is working on weekends, holidays and evenings in order to meet their goal.

The Veterans Community Project understands the struggle of veterans. After they get out of service, they often go through periods of isolation. Many of them go without basic necessities. The Veterans Community Project believes that if veterans have their own house, then it will be easier for them to transition into living a normal life.
