Eight days after a landlord was forced to evict his tenants, he proceeded with the clean-up of his property. Not only had the previous renters left the house in shambles, but worst of all a frightened and helpless puppy was abandoned to suffer among the discord and clutter of a hoard. As the property owner contacted a rescue team, he confessed he had been feeding the dog for over a week but attempts to get much more than a glance of the dog were made in vain.
As a clean-up team advanced upon the dire scene, a mad scramble to find the dog ensued. At last, the small dog was discovered hiding between dilapidated pieces of furniture in the rubbish left behind. The canine cowered beneath the beam of a flashlight, obviously disheveled, hungry, and neglected. And although she was nestled in a make-shift crawl space, shaking and afraid, rescuers never ceased in their efforts to save the tiny chihuahua.
With a little bit of loving kindness, the pup was eventually gently coaxed from her dusty hiding spot. Witnesses stated they were shocked that any animal could have survived such inhumane and deplorable condition. Yet this pup did. And though she suffers a cleft palate and is plagued with other health issues, she now enjoys the benefits of a safe and happy home.
In fact, Emma the chihuahua is now the prominent face of a leading rescue organization that operates upon the resounding mission to rescue (and heal) other abandoned, homeless dogs.
