VIDEO: When Fireman Went Into Burning House, No One Ever Expected Him To Pull This Out

A firefighter in Fresno, California became a local hero after he used social media to share a video of one of his rescue efforts. In the summer of 2013, Cory Kalanick inspected a home that was filled with smoke to ensure that no people were left inside.

The routine sweep led him to discover an unconscious kitten in one of the rooms. He successfully brought the little kitty back to life by using traditional CPR treatment and pouring some cool water over it. The entire incident was captured on Kalanick’s GoPro Camera in high definition. A young girl can be clearly seen in the video as she anxiously awaits the fate of her precious pet.

The rescued kitten was named “Lucky” after a close encounter with death that was prevented thanks to a heroic firefighter. It’s common for firefighters to rescue animals that suffer from smoke related injuries. In 2013, a firefighter in Oakland, California was able to bring a dog back to consciousness inside a home that was filled with smoke.

In 2014, a similar rescue was captured on video in Spain. A firefighter in Valencia performed CPR on a small Yorkshire Terrier puppy.

A witness recalled how the Yorky appeared to be dead but the brave and determined firefighter continued to provide mouth-to-mouth treatment until it finally worked. To better prepare firefighters for rescuing animals, a Veterinary Hospital in Walnut Creek, California donates unique first aid kits that are designed for providing life-saving treatment for cats and dogs.
