People are constantly giving Pit Bulls a bad-wrap. They are called vicious or ill-tempered and some cities even go so far as to ban the breed completely. These people and places have taken one or two incidents and blown them out of proportion and many are left afraid of them. Little do these people know that Pit Bulls are one of the most loyal breeds of dogs that a person could ever own.
Recently, one sweet Pit Bull brought this fact to light. Michael Mason was driving near Atlanta when he noticed a dog standing near the side of the road. Upon closer inspection, Mason noticed that the Pit Bull was standing guard over another dog that appeared to have been hit by a car. The dog, now named Herman, was standing guard over his friend. Herman stood guard until help arrived for his female companion. While she did not make it, Herman proved that Pit Bulls are as loyal and compassionate as they come.
Mason managed to take a picture of Herman’s loyalty before the local animal shelter came to pick him up. Since then, the photo of the brave pup has gone viral and the shelter has received multiple calls about him.
Herman’s story not only proves the love of animals, it proves that Pit Bulls don’t deserve the hatred they so often receive. No cruel dog would star with his friend until the end. It goes to prove that you should never judge anyone, or any dog, by what you hear.
