A video of the bovine rescue called Milkshake shows the gentle cow behaving as if it were a dog. At one point, Milkshake was malnourished and was taken from its previous owner along with 50 other improperly cared for animals. On her new adoptive farm, she bonded with the family dog and seemingly thinks she’s one also.
Her best friend is a terrier and she has learned how to greet her master doggie-style. That is, she greets her masters with all the joy of a dog. In fact, it is said she doesn’t like munching grass preferring instead to feast on dog food.
At the time of her rescue, she lived in a pen 10 feet by 10 feet in complete isolation from her parents or other cows. T
his may account for her newly acquired identity. She loves her master dearly and follows her around just like a loyal pooch. In fact, she follows her master on jogs and hikes, and enjoys getting her chin scratched. Her adoptive family own other cows, but Milkshake doesn’t care for them at all.
She doesn’t mind if her family dresses her up in outfits just as they do with the terrier. She even allows them to place the terrier on her back and she goes about giving the much smaller dog a ride. Admittedly, no one wants Milkshake to attempt to jump on their lap given her size and weight. It is safe to say that her owners will never experience another cow quite like her.
