Vinegar is an extremely versatile product. While it can be used in cooking, it is a great household product that can be used to make life easier.
Plain vinegar itself is useful. If a sticker or tape has left behind a sticky residue, vinegar can easily remove it. Just spray some vinegar on the spot and after several seconds it will easily wipe away. The same idea can be applied using a soft cloth to wipe away smudges and spots on sunglasses. Spraying vinegar on furniture will keep cats from clawing at it. Finally, a vinegar soaked slice of bread left in a stinky trashcan overnight will eliminate oder.
Vinegar mixed with water can be applied to many everyday situations. With just half a cup of baking soda and one cup of vinegar a clog will disappear! Simply pour the baking soda into the drain and then add the vinegar. A vinegar all purpose cleaner is comprised of one third vinegar, two thirds water, and several drops of liquid dish soap. A spray bottle of one part vinegar to three parts water will quickly remove any unwanted wrinkles in clothing. The last vinegar hack removes hard to clean stains on cookware by boiling vinegar and water for five minutes.
Apple cider vinegar can be used in several ways as well. Fruit flies can be caught with a simple trap made from a cup of apple cider vinegar covered with hole-poked plastic wrap, and a little apple cider vinegar mixed with water will do wonders for the longevity of a vase of flowers.
