VIDEO: She Didn’t Want To Celebrate Her 100th Birthday Until Reporter Handed Her THIS

They say that age is just a number. One woman from Indiana knew that adage all too well. She was 110 years old which allowed her to be given the title of the state’s oldest resident in 2012.

The woman was named Janet Davis and she did not want anyone to make her the center of attention just because she was turning 110 years old. However, a reporter from WISH-TV wanted to speak to her to mark the special occasion.

She did not seem to be happy about having to reveal her age or talk about herself. This made the interview hard for the reporter, but he decided to offer her up the perfect gift, a box of chocolates. Upon receiving this present, she was jubilant and it put a smile upon her face. This helped to end the interview on a high note. People like Janet show everyone how they should age gracefully.

A simple gift was able to make her day a special one. Unfortunately, this beautiful woman died in August of 2013, but left her mark on the state that she called her home for over a century. She was someone who devoted her life to helping people as a nurse and even volunteered her skills during World War 1.

She will live on in the hearts of the people that she touched at home, church and at work.
