The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine is flooding the news networks and is fodder for talk show hosts on air and on the radio. In an effort to be “fair” Sean Hannity on Fox News invited a Palestinian American on to “discuss” the current conflict.
What happened when the guest appeared on the show was astonishing. Hannity, in his single-minded the Jerusalem Fund and Palestine Center in Washington, when he started attacking him about the actions of the Palestinians and deeming anyone who agrees with their side of the conflict as terrorist sympathizers.
Munyyar was not able to answer any questions with a compete sentence, present his side of the story, or otherwise defend his beliefs about the situation. Every time he started to answer on of Hannity’s questions the talk show host would cut him off and talk over him. It was absolutely unfair and made most viewers quick to change the channel.
Munyyar tried to explain to Hannty that the background for many of these Palestinians is filled with distrust and hardships that have been placed on them intentionally by Israel. He wanted Hannity to take a broader look at the situation and possibly consider that the Palestinian people are oppressed and not necessarily the evil terrorists that Hannty was trying to make them out to be.
Hannity would have none of it. In fact, Hannty is so threatened when anyone thinks outside of his black-and-white existence that he ended the interview short, leaving Mr. Munyyar unable to make any point that would be in defense of the Palestinians.
