CNN anchor Carol Costello was openly displaying the absurdity of modern politics when she took Pinal County (Arizona) Sheriff Paul Babeu to task for publishing the bus route information for a bus carrying 40 illegal alien children which were to be dumped in a boy’s ranch in the county. Costello wasn’t upset at the Obama administration’s arbitrary disregard of immigration law at all.
What was reproachable in her mind was the fact that a law abiding officer should provide citizens the information needed to protest and block the dumping of children. It should be noted that the Obama administration is largely ignoring the concerns of border states in putting up refugee children into various towns and cities in their states.
Sheriff Babeu countered Costello’s reproach by stating that he has made inquiries to the Department of Homeland Security regarding the transfer of refugee children and they are unresponsive to his requests. Costello pointed out that the sheriff has an obligation to follow the law.
It is astounding that she insist on this comportment from Sheriff Babeu while giving the Obama administration a complete pass on laws they decide not to enforce such as marijuana drug laws, the Defense of Marriage Act, key requirement start dates for the Affordable Care Act, and immigration laws. That said, the sheriff affirmed that he is obeying the law and making arrests of drug traffickers and illegal aliens. The double entendre here is that the specific laws he cited as obeying are ones which the Obama administration is not enforcing.
