With Winter comes cold and flu season. Something we all dread. Common colds are the number one reason for adults missing work and children being absent from school. Those pesky colds can really take a number on your body, but they don’t have to anymore.
Dave Hax has shared his recipe for a natural homemade cough drop that can be made in your very own kitchen. With just a few simple ingredients from your cupboards you will be feeling better in no time. Recipe
- 1 Cup of sugar
- 1/2 Cup of water
- 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon of honey
- 1/2 Teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 Teaspoon of ground cloves
Simply place all of these ingredients into a pot and bring to a simmer. You will then reduce to a low heat and continue to let it simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes. At that time, remove the pot from the heat and allow it to cool for 20 minutes.
Once it has cooled down you can take a spoon and pour small dots of the syrup on to a lined pan. When they have cooled off you can dust them with powdered sugar to prevent them from sticking to each other. This is such a healthy alternative to the usual drugs we medicate ourselves with and most of us already have the ingredients on hand.
