There’s a million examples out there to show why one shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. Consider the friendship of Farina the cat and Maeby the dog. On the surface, nobody would think they could be friends. Let alone some of the best buddies in the animal kingdom.
But as the video opens, one can see Maeby taking a snooze on the couch. She’s looking about as comfortable as one could ever hope to be. She’s drifting in and out of that calm twilight state right before sleep. And just as sleep is starting to finally take hold, a cat appears. Farina doesn’t want to miss out on a cat’s specialty! Farina slowly walks up, gives a discriminating evaluation of the situation, and then proceeds to walk right on top of Maeby.
What’s really amazing in that is how patient Maeby is with the whole thing. Most dogs, most anyone really, would be less than thrilled with a rather plus sized cat walking on them. But she doesn’t even seem to mind when Farina starts pawing below herself.
What’s even more remarkable is what happens as Farina begins to look for the best spot. She’s determined to sleep on top of Maeby. But anyone who knows cats will recognize the somewhat long glances she gives. She’s obviously putting on her thinking cap, and trying to determine how best to balance herself. She then proceeds to climb up to a specific spot, slide down just a bit, and finally get the perfect location.
Near, but avoiding the ever patient Maeby’s eye. It’s obvious that it’s two animals who love each other and want to snuggle up as perfectly as possible.
