The story of 20 year old Liz, should serve as a warning to anyone who thinks that testing and driving won’t have serious, life altering consequences. As with many teenagers, the phone is a constant link to friends and family, but for some this connection comes at a high price. Liz was a normal, pretty, high school teenager, who has her whole life in front of her.
With a momentary glance at a text message from her mom, she was involved in a horrific automobile accident that left her scarred both mentally and physically. She lost the sight in one eye, requires facial reconstructive surgery and has a significant loss of hearing. Perhaps what is worse than the physical devastation is the fact that now young Liz is lonely.
After the accident, she slowly lost all her friends who could not handle the surgeries and healing that Liz had to undergo. This story has of yet no happy ending for Liz. Her life was changed in an instant because she took a moment to glance at her phone.
