VIDEO: He Poured Green Slime In His Toilet. The Reason Why?!? I Can’t Believe This Worked!

A clogged toilet always elicits a bit of anxiety for the person causing it, or discovering it. Many times, the need to unclog a toilet arises without a handy plunger on hand. Toilet clogs are most often caused by flushed materials lodging against the walls of the drain pipes.

With every flush, the inevitable spill-over grows closer. Immediately after noticing a clog, cease all flushing. After the closet and bowl have completely refilled, try this detergent-based method of clearing the line. Use a concentrated hand soap, dishwasher soap, or other liquid detergent. Squirt one or two cups directly into the bottom of the toilet bowl. Notice that the detergent is thicker and heavier that the water.

It will quickly sink and begin coating the edges of the drain line. Wait for several minutes. As the detergent coats the line, accelerate the lubrication by adding one or two gallons of extremely hot water into the bowl. If possible, leave enough room in the bowl for the final flush which clears the line. The longer someone can wait, the better the detergent will lubricate the line and allow the materials to pass.

In general, once the hot water is cooled, it’s an indication that enough lubrication time has be allowed. Flush the toilet. If the detergent lubrication has done its job, a tremendous emptying of the line will occur. This method is not a guarantee, but it is a highly recommended way to clear a toilet clog when a toilet plunger is not present.
