VIDEO: Handicaped Dog Comes In Last, But Still Manages To Steal The Show! HEART MELTING!

The disabled dachshund Anderson “Pooper” shares one similarity with his namesake: determination. Just as television journalist Anderson Cooper is known for his dedication to his craft which has led him to report from disaster zones around the world, dachshund Anderson Pooper was determined to finish a doggy footrace despite the fact that he must walk with the assistance of a doggy wheelchair.

Anderson Pooper, who is 7-years-old and is actually a female dachshund, was entered in the Annual Kent & Alan Wiener Dog Races by her owners Brenda and Brenda Sizer. According to Fox Sports, the race is sponsored by a local radio station in Auburn, Washington.

Sporting her doggy wheelchair and a blue tutu, the tawny spotted weiner dog did not come in first in the Annual Alan Wiener Dog Race, but she was all focus and determination as she managed to cross the finish line while other participants ran off course.

According to Deadspin, she was cheered on to shouts of “go, Pooper!” and “c’mon A.Poop.”

According to The New York Daily News, the pet’s name comes from her propensity to,well poop quite a bit and from her owner’s maiden name Anderson.

Due to a spinal injury, Anderson Pooper suffers from paralysis and cannot move her back legs. This requires her to use a harness with wheels attached in order to maintain her mobility. Her owners, The Sizers, adopted her four years ago from a non-profit called Animals with Disabilities.
