It is truly astounding what small children notice and pick up on. Adults tend to think that they are not very smart yet and have not yet developed the capacity to be observant of their surroundings. However, kids are often more observant of what is going on around them than adults are. Because they are unencumbered by the stresses of daily life and everything that adults focus on on a day to day basis, they are able to notice everything that goes on around them, more so than we would give them credit for.
In this video, a little boy shows exactly that. His daddy tells him to “do the mommy,” and he basically impersonates his pregnant mother. What he does is walk around with his belly jutted out, reminiscent of a pregnant woman. He does this on camera, which is absolutely hilarious and adorable.
Clearly, this little boy has been observing his mother and the way she is walking around. He notices that she is not walking around like most people do, but that the baby in her belly is affecting the way she moves. As such, he sees her movement of characteristic of her. It is so funny that when his dad tells him to imitate her, that is the first thing that comes to mind and the main attribute that he imitates.
It will be interesting to see him “do the mommy” after the mommy finally gives birth. Will it be the same as it is now?
