IT’S A MIRACLE
For twins Catlin and Emily, it truly is a miracle. When they were first born, they were conjoined twins. But what makes their story so incredible is they were fused at the chest, not at the heart. That made a difference. Seeing as how they were fused at the chest, the doctors could perform a separation surgery. The surgery took place when they were just 10 months old. After that, the twins began to grow and fully become a part of their community. Both Catlin and Emily have gone to the very top of their class. Next, they are off to college. They couldn’t be more excited either.
During an interview, the girls expressed nothing but gratitude and humility. “Everyone looks forward to their 18th birthday, but for us it’s even more important.” This was the remark Caitlin made about their journey so far. They both look back are very grateful for everything, especially when you consider how serious it could have been for them.
Seeing as how they had been joined at the chest and liver, the separation was more agreeable. Their doctor has admitted that if they had been joined at the heart, things would have turned out more dangerous and fatal.
Another complication arose when one was born with a blocked intestine. This resulted in surgery, only after two days. Now things are looked better then ever for Caitlin and Emily. They have left the past behind and are just grateful to be alive.
