VIDEO: As Soon As This Dad Opened His Present And Saw What It Was He Broke Down In Tears

Many people would be surprised to know that eight percent of men are color blind. It doesn’t seem so common, but the truth is that it is. People who are color blind are missing out on what many people take for granted every day – the ability to see all of the colors in the spectrum that make up our surroundings.

Opie Hughes is red/green color blind, which means that he has significant difficulty telling the two colors apart. Additionally, any color that includes either red or green will be somewhat muted, including colors like turquoise, sea green, and jungle green.

However, he does have the opportunity to see color when he gets his birthday present. His birthday present is a pair of glasses made by EnChroma, a company that is based in the city of Berkeley, California.

The moment when he puts his glasses on and sees the world as everyone else sees it for the very first time, with the full range of color, is truly heartwarming and moving for anyone to be watching. He is clearly very emotional at being able to see all of this for the first time, particularly his ability to now see his children for the first time in the full range of color.

His wife tells him to look into his children’s eyes, and when he does, he is moved to tears. It is great seeing that he is able to experience what he has missed out on all this time.
