Sonya was a stray dog that Jennifer Valasquez saved by looking around on Google Maps. She spotted the dog laying on the side walk looking very ragged and contacted Hope for Paws, a company that helps save stray dogs from the street.
They did exactly that for Sonya. They coaxed her into an area that the could easily contain and catch her. Her journey continued after her capture, she next headed to Dirty Hairy Dog a mobile dog spa.
They trimmed down her long matted hair and got her cleaned up. Unfortunately the removal of all the hair revealed several health issues including some tumors. She had to then go to the vet and under go surgery to remove them and repair the harsh damage the street had on her. After a few days recovery from surgery Sonya was ready to become someones pet.
She is currently being fostered by a kind lady named Joan awaiting adoption for a permanent home. Karma Rescue currently features Sonya in their campaigns hoping soon she will find a new home.
Sonya is a very sweet dog and this article is just one more way to try and find her the kind of home she deserves. A lot of people worked to save Sonya and continue to work hard to save other dogs just like her.
