GuiGui Zheng a 20 year old woman from China was born with no fingers on her right hand. She started playing the piano at the age of eighteen and within two years has become a successful pianist despite lacking half of her fingers.
Zheng is now an inspiration to people all over the world and is proof that anything can be done if it’s what a person desires. Even more astounding is the fact that her growing up she hadn’t even seen a piano until three years prior to joining a competition where she shocked the audience with her skills.
Zheng appeared on China’s Got Talent in 2012. She advanced to the second round before losing the judge’s choice. Currently, Zheng tours the world to serve as an inspiration to people to follow their dreams.
She’s only been playing piano for about three years now but that doesn’t mean she’s been taking it easy – her repertoire includes difficult songs such as Souvenirs d’enfance by Claude Lachapelle.
However, when asked what her true dreams were, Zheng replied, “To be a kindergarten teacher and be able to play beautiful melodies for the children.” Her story should be an inspiration for people to stick with their passions and follow through in achieving their goals regardless of the setbacks.
