Once again, whether we like it or not, it’s the season for many holiday themed parties and lots of food. It can be trying for people sometimes – especially trying to mix up your recipes from year to year, party to party. It’s easy to get stuck in the rut of cooking old Aunt Jemimah’s casserole for every get together because it’s delicious and you’re good at it… But mix it up this winter, with something that you haven’t ever tried before – enter, the ultimate cheeseburger party bun dish:
To start this recipe, you’ll need the standard cheeseburger ingredients, ground beef, garlic and onions. This will all be cooked in a skillet on high heat, until the beef is cooked and the onions begin to soften. To really get creative with this burger mixture, add Ro-Tel diced tomatoes with chiles. Ground mustard and Paprika also add great flavor to this recipe.
Once the meat is cooked, you’ll need a 9×13 casserole dish and a pack of dinner rolls, line the bottom inside of the dish with the bottom half of the rolls, and top these bun bottoms with the meat mixture. Then, add a slice of cheese to the top of each bun mixture. Finally, place the bun top over each slice of cheese.
In a saucepan, add butter, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and sesame seeds. Heat the mixture until everything is melted and combined. Pour the sauce over all of the bun tops and place the casserole dish in a preheated oven for a little over ten minutes.
The end result is a cheeseburger that’s similar to a slider, but without all of the hassle of making any individual burgers. It’s easy to make and only dirties a few dishes. Check out the photographic guide below and give these burger party buns a shot!
