This Might Look Very Pretty. But This New Threat At Your Beach Can Kill You. Be Warned…

Each summer, our beaches are clustered by tons of people who are looking to enjoy the sunny weather. In many incidences, you will hear people talk about attacks by beached whales, sharks; jellyfish that is close to the shore, or beach closures as a result of water contamination by bacteria.

Brace yourself as there is a new threat that is highly dangerous to swimmers called the Man O’War. Though the creature is native to Portugal, it has been spotted in American beaches recently. Of interest are the beaches of New York and New Jersey that has seen their numbers rise. The scariest thing is that Man O’War is already a potential danger to humans.

Though the zooids have many similarities to jellyfish, they are entirely different. Man O’War’s tentacles are as much as 30 feet long, and their sting causes intense and burning pain, besides possessing a history of killing humans. The news comes in awful taste as no one wants to think of it when all they need is to relax on the beaches and have fun in the sun.

This, however, should not make you cancel your plans to relish the beautiful weather of summer. Being aware of the surroundings near you is enough instead of being afraid to go to the beaches. Be on the lookout for these deadly creatures as they can cause much harm or possibly kill you. Enjoy the summer normally since the sun, as we are aware, will not last forever.
