Apple rose cakes are so easy to make that anyone can do it. To make six of these, all you need is: two Red Delicious apples, half a lemon, 3 tablespoons of apricot preserves, 1 sheet of puff pastry, and water. Start off by removing the cores from the apples, and slicing them as thinly as you can.
Then, squeeze half of a lemon into a bowl that is half filled with water, making sure to remove all seeds. Put the thin apple slices into this bowl, making sure that the lemon and water are evenly mixed before you do so. Then, put this bowl into the microwave, and microwave it for about 3 minutes. Remove the bowl, and drain out all the water.
In a separate small bowl, add in 3 tablespoons of apricot preserves, along with 2 tablespoons of water. Microwave this bowl for about 1 minute. Then, take out the sheet of puff pastry, which should be thawed by now, and stretch it out completely with a rolling pin. Cut it into 6 equal strips, and spread the apricot mixture onto each one of those strips.
Then, arrange the apple slices on top of the apricot mixture, sprinkle cinnamon on top, roll the bottom halves of the strips over the apples, and roll up the strips. You will see that they are already starting to look like roses.
Put the six roses into a muffin tray, and bake them at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
