This Chef Lines Entire Pan With Bacon, Then He Fills It With THIS Ingredient and I’m Drooling!

As the Christmas holidays approach, many people are scrambling to find unique and tasty recipes for Christmas breakfasts and brunches. Chef Michael Smith has created a scrumptious potato bacon cheddar tart that is both easy to make and looks impressive. It might seem complicated at first, but it is actually quite simple.

The recipe starts by choosing a flat, circular frying pan and layering bacon inside of it. The tasty smoked pork is laid with one end in the center of the pan, and the other end draped over the edge of the pan. Each strip of bacon is overlapped, so that the entire pan is lined in bacon that creates an elaborate starburst shape. Chef Michael suggests placing every other strip of bacon slightly back from the center, so that a huge wad of bacon does not end up in the center.

Roughly two pounds of bacon should be used. Sharp cheddar cheese and thin slices of potatoes are also added. The raw potatoes should be sliced into thin layers, with either a knife or a mandolin slicer. The potato slices should then be placed in a single layer on the bacon, and sprinkled with salt, pepper, and any other seasonings you desire. Then all you have to do is alternate between layers of potatoes and grated cheddar cheese until the pan is full.

The whole pan is placed on a tray to avoid any grease running over, and a weight is placed onto the top of the tart to press it into a firm, circular shape. The potato bacon cheddar tart should be baked at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for two and a half hours. Once it is removed from the oven and allowed to cool slightly, it can be sliced into wedges and served.
