SGT. Canvas has worked alongside CPL. Moseley for many years. She is a combat veteran dog. She is able to detect over 70 types of explosives and bombs. Moseley and Canvas worked together for a long time until Moseley ended up losing his leg in an explosion. Moseley was awarded the Purple Heart when he returned home.
Canvas started to develop spinal issues. The spinal issues were debilitating. Canvas was in a lot of pain, so Moseley decided that it would be best for her to get put to sleep. However, Moseley did everything in his power to make sure that Canvas’s last day would be a great one.
The Patriot Guard rode to the veterinary clinic where Canvas was euthanized. Flags were also flown in order to honor Canvas and the work that she had done. Moseley spoke very highly of his beloved dog. He stated that having Canvas with him was just like having a member of his own family with him. He also stated that Canvas took a lot of the stress away from him.
The video of the Patriot Guard and Moseley honoring his beloved dog has gone viral. The short video has received over 109,000 likes and 4,200 shares on Facebook.
