Perhaps the most ambitious project is to make a pond by using just a tire and some tools. In this case, those tools required are a garden foil, a pond filter, a scroll saw, a level, shovel, some plants, sand and gravel, and some rocks of different sizes. First dig a hole that’s deep enough to fit both the tire and some sand in it. Then, fill the hole with sand and use the level so that the tire lies flat above it. Next comes the scroll saw, where the top of the tire is cut off, which helps make for a wider pond. After that’s been completed, remove any debris inside the tire. The tire should then be covered with the garden foil, and the different array of stones should be placed around it. Once that’s been done, simply fill the newly-created pond with water. Finally, to keep mosquitoes from circulating around it and to offer a sense of serenity, add the water filter.
Take these ideas and add your own personal flair to them, or just think of something all your own and manifest your artistic vision! Let us know if you can think of any other creative way to repurpose these big old rubber recyclables.
