When pets are separated from their babies, they can display some of the sadness that humans feel when they aren’t with their children. A small dog was left at a shelter in Los Angeles. She had been neglected by her owners. When she got to the shelter, she was in labor.
Due to several fleas that were in the dog’s fur and on her body, she wasn’t able to nurse her puppies once they were born. Workers at the shelter gave her a bath and treated her for fleas. They also got help from the Bill Foundation, a group that helps foster animals that have been abandoned.
After about an hour and a half, Asha was groomed and clean. She was able to feed her babies, giving them the milk that they needed to begin their lives. When Asha saw her puppies again, she was excited. The little dog barks and nuzzles with her puppies as they get close to her mother.
This is a story with a happy ending. Asha is doing well, and her puppies are growing. If it weren’t for the immediate attention from the workers at the shelter, then Asha’s family could have had a different ending. Check out the video here!
