They Are Singing To The Radio. But Wait Until You See Who Joins In From The Back

Many people love singing their favorite tunes while driving in the car. Most of them probably never imagined singing these hits with world-famous music stars sitting right next to them, however. British comedian and TV host James Corden likes to make this concept a reality. His program regularly features major celebrities participating in what he calls “carpool karaoke.” Carpool karaoke is exactly what it sounds like.

A recent episode had rock ‘n roll powerhouse Rod Stewart happily belting out songs while sitting next to Corden in the car. The duo sang Stewart’s iconic 1978 disco hit “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy.” They also sang folk rock singer-songwriter Cat Stevens’ 1967 track “The First Cut is the Deepest.” They appeared to have a ball doing so, too, to say the very least.

After they “performed” the first two songs, they started singing “In a Broken Dream,” a 1970s single from Python Lee Jackson, a rock band from Australia. Stewart was the vocalist on the track. They were abruptly joined by acclaimed rapper A$AP Rocky from the back seat. A$AP Rocky rapped his prominent track “Everyday,” which also features a Rod Stewart sample. After that happened, Corden noted that he’s never felt so cool before. Although A$AP Rocky left after “Everyday,” Corden and Stewart were still far from done. They sang their hearts out of The Faces’ “Ooh La La” and Stewart’s legendary “Maggie May.”

When it comes to the thrills of karaoke, Corden sure knows how to do things right.
