Elementary schools around the country are starting to cut out music education. Fortunately, there are many schools that still recognize the importance of music education. Malinda Williams is a teacher at the Baldwin Hills Elementary School. She is also a fan of Motown Classics. The Jackson 5 was one of the most popular groups during the Motown era.
Williams decided that she was going to expose her students to some of the Motown Classics. She also recorded a video of her third grade students dancing to the Jackson 5 classic “I Want You Back.” The video went viral shortly after it was posted on the Internet. It has received over 563,000 views on Facebook.
Williams has stated that she is overwhelmed by the positive responses that she has received on Facebook. She says that she feels extremely blessed to be able to teach students to dance, which is an opportunity that many of them may have never had before. She also says that she is grateful God gave her such an opportunity.
Williams says that she loves children, and she loves teaching them to dance. She also loves classic music. Additionally, Williams says that what she does is a labor of love.
