Everyone has seen those photos: the ones that don’t look real and that seem to be impossible to have captured. Ever seen a surfing duck?
There are some incredibly photos out there that are real. The surfing duck is just one of about fifty that have been gathered up to create a gallery of them. None of them have been photoshopped, and all have an interesting story behind them.
For instance, a news reporter who avoided getting hit with a baseball didn’t realize she was in any danger at all until she posted the photo online. Another interesting photo in the gallery is a crew blasting a member with a hose while he falls off the boat. It is hilarious, and real.
The power of placement comes into play in a lot of the photos: for instance, the guns to the sides in one photo look as if they are floating in front of the recruits. Changing the lights is another powerful thing to play with; a stadium changed its lighting during a panoramic picture and the result is amazingly spooky. A shot of a guy in the sky after his car crashed is another powerful picture in the gallery.
