Travis and Anna Boxman Thompson are jus a couple of soulmates who recently got hitched in Atlanta, Georgia. Their happy day was shadowed by the death of Anna’s son, Lake, who’d been struggling with leukemia for years.
While Anna received many messages of support and prayer both in person and on the Facebook page she set up in Lake’s name, she still felt heavily depressed as she spoke her wedding vows. The couple hired photographer and friend, Brandy Angel, to take all of their wedding photos.
She heads the Brandy Angel Foundation, which she created to share images that tell a special story and create connection with the people involved. Since Anna was a close friend, Brandy decided to do something extraordinary to help her honor Lake. Using a photo editor and a great deal of skill, she added Lake to all of Travis and Anna’s wedding pictures.
Initially, Brandy put Lake in the center of the photos to show a complete family. Later, she edited in a separate, faint image of him to indicate his presence in spirit. Anna was overjoyed with the result and said she felt Lake’s presence during the ceremony and photo session, but the pain in her heart was nearly unbearable. Now, he is immortalized and will be forever standing next to his mother.
