It’s no secret that cats are a curious and often bizarre species. It’s not uncommon for a cat that seems perfectly content to lounge on a sunny windowsill all day to have a double life when allowed to roam free at night… Some cats, like Nala, even have a secret second family.
Nala’s owners had no idea of her exploits until one day when she returned home from exploring her neighborhood with a note pinned to her collar. At first, Nala’s owners were afraid it was a complaint about her getting into someone’s trash or some other unacceptable feline behavior; however, on closer inspection the note was actually a heartfelt “thank you” from Nala’s second family.
The author of the note explained that Nala would show up at their door every few weeks meowing to be let inside. She would then make herself at home and demand to be fed. Nala has gourmet tastes and would apparently turn her nose up at soft cat food in favor of bologna.
The note ended with the writer stating that she and her husband looked forward to Nala’s visits because they had recently lost their own cat of 21 years. The author did not sign the note, so it’s unclear if Nala’s two families will ever meet. However, if Nala is true to feline form, she will likely continue her clandestine visits whenever she craves a taste of bologna.
