The Way GOP And Foxnews React To Robin Williams’ Death Has Me Beyond Furious And Disgusted

Quite likely it is the same group of people who pounce on every gun tragedy to promote a political agenda of gun restrictions who are upset over Shepard Smith’s handling of the Robin Williams suicide only hours after it was made public.

The same crowd who see no problem in political opportunities as long as it favorable to them likewise took issue with Minnesota state deputy GOP chair Chris Field’s political spin on Robin Williams’ legacy. In regards to Fox News commentator Shepard Smith, people took issue with him castigating Robin Williams for cowardice by taking his life and bereaving those behind namely his three children who dearly loved him.

The political Left quoted Dr. Thomas Joiner, author of “Myths About Suicide”, who makes the case that taking one’s life is an act of selflessness.

Regardless of any attempt by people to redefine suicide in politically correct terms, the fact is Robin Williams’ act of “selflessness” has left his young adult children devastated at a time they still need his love and guidance. It should be noted that Dr. Joiner has yet to personally perform this selfless act. As for Minnesota deputy state chair Chris Field, he stirred up a hornet’s nest after someone commented they had nicknamed their cat “Nanu Nanu” after a popular quip from Robin Williams’ breakthrough character Mork from Ork.

Field made the tongue in cheek remark that if the person wanted 1980s style economic growth, she should vote GOP in the upcoming election.

This drew the ire of people who saw it as distasteful to invoke politics at this time. Has the political Left forgotten about the Senator Paul Wellstone memorial weeks before the 2002 mid-term elections? Field’s comment was nothing compared to that debacle.
