Sometimes the story of an animal can catch people’s eyes and then their hearts. This is even true of punk rock bands, such as the 90s rock band, New Found Glory. The guitarist of this band found an ad online on Friday night that was attempting to save a horse from slaughter. The name of the horse was “New Found Glory,” and she was a one year old Thoroughbred Mare.
He ended up tweeting about this along with a picture of the horse. She was supposed to be slaughtered at 10am that morning, but they ended up buying her and finding her a home. The horse is now living on a farm in Texas, and Chad included in his tweet: “I hope we get to meet her in person soon!”
He went on to tell TMZ that they paid only $350 to save this horse from the slaughterhouse. Freedom4Horses is an advocate for ending the needless slaughter of horses such as New Found Glory, and they played a role in her saving as well by making the band aware of her impending fate. This horse is now able to live out her days on a ranch in Texas rather than being met with an untimely death in the slaughterhouse.
It is great that this band was willing to help this innocent animal in this way, and it will definitely boost their reputation among all of he animal lovers out there. Thankfully, they cared enough to save this horse’s precious life.
