She Thought She Lost It Forever Until Firefighters Found It Under A Pile Of Ashes 40 Years Later

Californian wildfires are a common problem that claim the properties of many residents each year. Even for the people of California, who are often now largely immune to the tales of woe and heart warming stories that go hand in hand with the wildfires that often plague the state.

Kathy Besks provided one of the stories that tend to melt even the hardest hearts after the mother feared she had lost her home and all the family mementos and heirlooms within during a recent wildfire.

Instead, local firefighters came to the rescue in finding Besks own wedding ring and a ring made from the stones of her mothers wedding ring that was planned for her daughters wedding.

Besks and her daughter were assisting firefighters in the search through the rubble of her home when the firefighters spotted something sparkling in the remains of the property. On his knees, the firefighter picked up the sparkling object and noticed it was a ring, after calling Besks over she confirmed the first responders had found her 44 year old wedding and engagement rings.

A few minutes later, the firefighters also discovered a further ring, which may have meant even more to Besks than her wedding ring. The final ring found was created from the stones of her deceased mothers wedding ring and is to be passed on to her daughter on her wedding day. Besks reacted with tears and the thought that “God answers prayers, incredibly!”
