The skin is the largest organ of the body. That doesn’t mean that people take care of the body in the proper way. There are issues that arise on the skin, such as infections, sunburns and blisters.
When signs and symptoms are present that something is wrong with the skin, people still ignore them and continue in their daily lives. Some things that might seem normal on the skin, like freckles and moles, could be a sign of cancer or another disease that needs special attention. One woman found this out the hard way when she ignored what she thought was a mole.
There are a few ways that you can determine if a mole could be skin cancer. Look at the appearance of the mole. If it’s asymmetrical, then it needs to be examined. Moles that have a smooth and even edge usually aren’t anything to worry about.
You should also look at the area of the mole as there shouldn’t be one part that extends away from the center. The mole should have a consistent appearance in color and be light in color. The best way to prevent the development of moles that could be skin cancer or to slow the development is to wear sunscreen when you will be outside and avoid laying tanning beds.
