If you are looking for a great treat to make for Mother’s Day, you are in luck. These apple rose cakes look amazing, and they are so easy to make as well. All you need to make six of these are: one thawed puff pastry sheet, two fresh apples, half a lemon, 3 tablespoons of apricot preserves, and water. You can also use cinnamon and powdered sugar, but these ingredients are optional.
Start by taking the cores out of the apples, and slicing them thinly. Then, fill a bowl halfway with water, and squeeze all of the lemon juice into it without the seeds. Put the apple slices in, and microwave this for about 3 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix the apricot preserves with 2 tablespoons of water, and microwave for one minute. Take a rolling pin, and stretch out the puff pastry.
Cut it into 6 equal strips, and spread the apricot mixture onto each of them. Then, arrange the apple slices on them, and fold the bottom half of each strip on top of the apple slices. Then, you can sprinkle cinnamon on top if you want to. Finish this off by rolling the strips off, so that they will look like roses.
Then, put them into a muffin tray, and bake them at 375 degrees for about 40 to 45 minutes. When this is done, you will have a delicious treat to enjoy. You can top them with powdered sugar if you would like as well.
