In some cases, a tragedy can turn into an unexpected blessing. Mikey’s story is an example. Mikey is an eight-month old cat who was pregnant with three kittens. She gave birth to the kittens prematurely.
Unfortunately, all of her kittens died shortly after they were born. Mikey was devastated after she had lost all of her kittens. Not only was she depressed, but her nipples were full of milk. She did not know what to do with herself.
Fortunately, a shelter called Dori’s Darlings was able to help. There were three abandoned kittens at the shelter who had been looking for a mother. Mikey’s owner believed that the best way to help Mikey get over her loss was to adopt the three kittens.
Within a few minutes of Mikey meeting the kittens, she was already breastfeeding them. They were acting like a normal family. They did not seem to even care that they were not related. Mikey loves the kittens, and the the kittens love her. The heartwarming story of Mikey and the kittens has been shared on Facebook. It has received over 123,000 likes and 8,200 shares.
